Browser tabs hang several times a day

Reported by steffz...@gmail.com, Jun 24 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 8350.38.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2743.49 Safari/537.36
Platform: 8350.38.0 (Official Build) beta-channel edgar

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. ( deactivate flash plugin, deactivate native client plugin )
2. open a tab for http://www.welt.de/politik/ausland/article156524176/EU-fordert-Briten-zu-unverzueglichem-Handeln-auf.html
3. while page loads, shift page constantly up and down, shift page so that embedded video at the top is outside of the frame

What is the expected behavior?
Page should work normally, apparently the video is supposed to automatically start playing

What went wrong?
tab hangs, scrolling no longer possible.
After a while the error message "Oh nein! Fehler beim Anzeigen dieser Webseite." appears

Crashed report ID: Absturz-ID 1c97641600000000 (Chrome) Automatische Meldung am Freitag, 24. Juni 2016 um 21:06:42

How much crashed? Just one tab

Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A

Did this work before? Yes several beta versions in the past it did work.

Chrome version: 52.0.2743.49 Channel: beta
OS Version: 8350.38.0
Flash Version: 22.0.0.192-r1 (deactivated!)

The problem happens on various URLs, not 100% reproducible. In summary it happens several times per day.

Here is another example (reproduced two times):
http://www.welt.de/politik/article156560285/Schottland-bereitet-zweites-Referendum-vor.html

There was no crash report this time. Just the hanging tab and "Oh nein" error message.

Tried it again without any scrolling, and it still reproduces the error.

Components: Platform OS>Kernel>Video
I have not observed the problem for several weeks. I follow the beta cycle closely, now on Version 53.0.2785.87 beta (64-bit)
Plattform 8530.77.0 (Official Build) beta-channel edgar
Firmware Google_Edgar.7287.167.17

So I assume the problem has been fixed or at least been improved. I just now tried the original URLs above as well, could not reproduce the problem.
