(1) Find a webpage with a mailto link. (eg. <a href="mailto:hello@example.com>...</a>) (2) Click on the link (3) Notice the "-e <>" inserted as Bcc addresses. The actual email address is properly inserted into the To field. What is the expected result? The actual email address should appear in the To address field. What happens instead? "-e <>" addresses appear in the CC/BCC fields. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.

ssamanoori, it really is any webpage with a mailto link. I've been having this problem for a while, but don't remember how many versions back it started.

Tested the issue on Windows 7, Mac 10.11.5, Ubuntu 14.04 using 51.0.2704.84, latest stable 51.0.2704.106 with below steps: 1.Logged into gmail and clicked on compose button. 2.Given valid address in 'to' field. 3.Not observed any text inserted in cc or bcc column. Please find attached screenshot and update if anything missed here in triaging the issue. yonas.yanfa@Could you please check the issue on clean profile and update the thread with screencast if issue still persists.

@ssamanoori I've only seen this issue on FreeBSD. Can you please try on FreeBSD 10.3? Thanks! If you're still unable to reproduce, I'll try to reproduce on a clean profile with a screencast.

yonas.yanfa@, can you reproduce this issue on Window, Linux, macOS, or Android? We don't support FreeBSD officially. Can you reproduce this by typing mailto:hello@example.com into the address bar of Chrome?
