I think the problem is probably because I have a "Helvetica Light" font on my system, which provides style=Regular,Light (Line from fc-list: "helvetica-light.otf: Helvetica Light,Helvetica:style=Regular,Light") I think Chromium is picking this font by mistake even if it didn't provide a "bold" weight.

If you have Helvetica light set up to provide a style=Regular weight then that font gets picked and the weight will be synthetically altered to provide a fake bold typeface. However, as it is a light typeface to begin with that'll only make it appear at regular weight. |
