Reported by yx.sh...@gmail.com, Jun 22 2016

Issue description

Chrome Version: <Copy from: 'about:version'>
OS: MacOS 10.12 Developer Preview
See <http://www.chromium.org/for-testers/providing-memory-details> to

Chrome and Canary has abnormal memory usage on macOS 10.12.

As shown in the two screenshots. The Task Manager shows totally different memory usage as Activity Monitor.

I'll leave it to Mac people to triage this, but it's possible Activity Monitor just isn't counting shared pages right.

This looks like the exact same issue as Bug 619981 (https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=619981)

Yup.

There's also Issue 537875 "Memory accounting for OSX 10.9's Compressed Memory Pages appears incorrect" which is probably what you're seeing here. But Issue 619981 plays a big role since there are so many more compressed pages on 10.12 due to that bug.
