Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/51.0.2704.103 Safari/537.36 Example URL: Steps to reproduce the problem: Disabling downloading of images is a great way to save data when browsing over a metered/expensive data connection. Chrome/Chromium displays a place-holder of right size instead of downloading the images. But at times, an ideal reading experience means that some of the images ought to downloaded - for example key images of the article, as opposed to those from related/suggested articles. Currently, this is not possible. The control is either download all images in the page, or none at all. Ideally, it should allow the user to selectively download individual images on demand, just like one can enable a disabled flash plugin. What is the expected behavior? I think it'd make sense to make it to be able to download individual images. What went wrong? The control to disable downloading images is either-all-or none. Does it occur on multiple sites: N/A Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 51.0.2704.103 Channel: stable OS Version: Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

Thanks for filing the issue. This is something that we've considered for a long time. In fact, Chrome's Data Saver mode does this automatically on some page loads.

Thanks! I agree it makes sense to be able to download just one image from LoFi, perhaps the context menu is a good place for this. Have we looked into it?

In Data Saver mode, when images are not downloaded, users can choose to download individual images from the context menu. |
