Regression:Focus is lost after hitting spacebar/enter key on checkbox of supervised user

Chrome Version: 53.0.2774.3
OS:Windows(7,8,10), Mac(10.10.5,10.11.4), Linux (ubuntu 14.04 LTS)

Precondition:Enable 'Material Design User Manager' flag from 'chrome://flags

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Launch chrome and sign in with valid credentials.
2.Click on avatar icon click ’switch person' option ,Select 'ADD PERSON' and press 'tab' key till focus reaches 'checkbox' of supervised user.
3.Press spacebar/enter key to click on checkbox,again press 'tab' key and hit spacebar key to open drop down list of  'select an account' field.
4.Now hit shift+tab key to traverse back to 'checkbox' and press spacebar/enter key observe.  

Actual: Focus is lost after hitting spacebar/enter key on checkbox of supervised user for user manager overlay.

Expected:  Focus should stay after hitting spacebar/enter key on checkbox of supervised user for user manager overlay.

This is a regression issue broken in 'M53' and below is the manual regression range:
Good Build: 53.0.2769.0 
Bad Build:  53.0.2770.0

Status: WontFix (was: Assigned)
it's the dropdown menu's default behavior to return the focus to the its input element once the menu closes. When unchecking the checkbox, the menu closes and since the input element of the dropdown menu is hidden focus seems to be lost.
Since this isn't how users would normally interact with this page and the focus returns upon pressing Tab/Shift+Tab won't go ahead with for now.
