Issue descriptionWe should look at flatpak for distributing official Chrome releases for Linux. http://flatpak.org/#developers This could eliminate the distro-specific packages and simplify building Chrome.

Any news? I guess it's blocked by this upstream bug: https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/issues/953 Maybe you can finally at least provide Canary builds (with the sandbox turned off) for easier testing under Linux? An offical commitment to flatpak by Google may also help decide the flatpak/snappy question and preventing it from becoming another waste of resources like upstart/systemd or mir/wayland.
