Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 8350.21.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2743.32 Safari/537.36 Platform: 8350.21.1 (Official Build) beta-channel samus Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Use any resolution other than Native 2. Right click any element 3. Select Inspect Element What is the expected behavior? The correct item to be selected in the Elements tab in Dev Tool and tooltip on main window to scale with window. What went wrong? The wrong element is selected. The tooltip is at Native font size. I realized trying this on native resolution works as expected. Did this work before? Yes Beta release before 52.0.2743.32 Chrome version: 52.0.2743.32 Channel: n/a OS Version: 8350.21.1 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0 I'm using a Chromebook Pixel 2015 and the native resolution on 2560x1700 is not usable. The recommended (default) resolution has an issue, so it's not something that can be said to be an edge case.

Hi clshortfuse@, this seems like the same core issue as the one reported here, which is being worked on: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=617163 The other issue reports small tooltips, but it doesn't report incorrect elements being selected. If you are seeing the blue highlight box on the wrong element, could you please provide an example for us to repro?

Well, right here on this very page, if I right click on your email, at click inspect at 1280x850 (the default resolution), the blue highlights the word 'Chrome' on the left (the 'OS:' field). It was my discovery that it works in native, but on a zoomed desktop resolution (not zoomed page) it would target something above and to the left of my mouse target.

The title of my issue should probably says Dev Tools's 'Inspect Element' targeting only works with native resolution. The same happens if I use the keyboard to trigger the context menu (Shift-Search-0, Inspect Element), so it's not based on mouse event.

Thanks for the repro steps, I can confirm that the wrong element is highlighted. I've added a comment on the main issue that links to your comment for reference.
