Issue descriptionversion M53.0.2768.0 canary Platform 8475 link Input tools version: 6.6.7.3 REPRO STEPS: 1.Check <Show expanded input options in the shelf> in the setting page 2.Focus on any input-box, select a CJK input tool, e.g. Pinyin 3.Open opt-in menu 4.Click HW icon to open HW layout, then hide vk 5.Click mouse in the input-box ACTUAL RESULTS: VK layout pops up. Expected: HW panel should be saved. (For the same input tool, if open HW layout from vk layout->hide vk->click mouse in the input-box, the HW layout will be pop up again). Note: This issue not repro for XKB.

This is by designed. Opening emoji/hw/voice from opt-in menu is 'one-time' action. We are not going to save the user action of selecting HW or any other input. This is also same as bring out VK with opt-in menu. When 'On-screen keyboard' is disabled, users can still open VK by clicking emoji/hw/voice button (On-screen keyboard is enabled in background). But when the VK is hidden. The system will re-disable the VK to make it unable to be auto-shown. |
