Reported by vibhorsa...@gmail.com, Jun 20 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/51.0.2704.103 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1.IE is working fine
2. When we open the chrome it is asking for authentication
3.

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
When we open any URL and open a new tab the chrome required Authentication popup but in IE browser it is not asking any popup.

Chrome version: 51.0.2704.103 Channel: stable
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

Hello

Can any one help me to solve out this issue

Does Chrome ask for authentication on every new tab opened? or every time you browse to a new URL in a tab? or whenever Chrome is opened for the first time?

Could you collect a net-internals log?

I'm seeing the same issue.

Some notes:
 1. 52.0.2743.41 beta (64-bit), on Mac OS X 10.11.5 (corp laptop)
 2. Seems to happen when coming back from sleep/hibernation
 3. So far I've seen auth request for a few tabs (might be the active tab, not sure) asking for authentication on odd origins (e.g. userstream.twitter.com ? on tweetdeck; googleads.g.doubleclick.net on google docs).

Will try to capture a net-internals log next time it happens.

The prompt is probably wrong, due to issue 613626 in those screenshots.

The next question is why continually prompting.

Are either of you reproducing expecting to be using a proxy that uses HTTP auth?

@kenjibaheux: Are you on a public network when you get these prompts?
It is asked when i open every tab and enter any URL , in both the cases it is asking authentication prompt.
Also please the attached net log.

You are accessing the internet over a Squid proxy and the proxy is asking for credentials. The username/password should be those that the Squid proxy is expecting.

As eroman@ pointed out, the reason why the authentication prompt is wrong is due to issue 613626 . The fixes should roll out with Chrome 52+ the latest.

Marking as WontFix since both issues described here are either addressed elsewhere or are expected.
@asanka , how could you say the issue is because of squid proxy, i don't think it is logical answer as in IE browser the authentication popup is not asking and it is accepted squid credentials. I think you are aware that chrome use IE settings, if IE is working well without error then why this authentication popup occur in the chrome. Chrome doesn't accept the squid credentials but IE accepted.
#11: The proxy server is what's sending the authentication challenge. I can see in the logs that Chrome goes through the entire authentication handshake using NTLM and then the proxy challenges again. Based on that alone I can't really debug why the authentication is failing.

If you cancel out of the authentication dialog, can you access other sites? However other Google properties?

@asanka, If i cancel the authentication dialog then popup again occur for restricted sites. I will explain you in more details.

In our case except yammer.com website , all other websites are blocked , so when we enter yammer.com URL in Chrome then authentication popup occur and when we click on cancel the page will be displayed. Except this site when we open any URL even click on new tab on chrome, authentication popup comes and after cancel it, it is comes again and again.

I hope you understand what is an issue now.
