Issue descriptionChrome Version : 51.0.2704.84 (Official Build) m (64-bit) URLs (if applicable) : n/a What steps will reproduce the problem? Open Chrome browser Navigate to file for download Click download What is the expected result? File should be downloaded by Chrome browser. It should appear at the bottom of the Chrome window as a file with progress on download being displayed. It should be deposited in the downloads folder or save target folder when the download concludes. It should appear under chrome://downloads. What happens instead? File does not get downloaded by Chrome browser. A file does appear in a grey bar at the bottom of the Chrome window but it says it’s already completely downloaded (ex. 275KB of 275KB downloaded in 0 seconds) immediately. File does not appear under chrome://downloads. Chrome may freeze, become unresponsive or be unable to open websites in new tabs. ** Working environment ** - Operative System details. VM Windows 8.1 64-bits and VM Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bits - Antivirus? Removed from all machines. - Firewall enabled Yes, Paloalto Firewall - Is it a virtual machine? Yes. VMWare ESXi Hypervisor 5.5. Up to 300 independent VMs. Each VM is alloted up to 4GBs of RAM. Each user in Hypervisor has their own VM running Windows OS. Users can connect to their VM in multiple ways including Remote Desktop, using the VMware Console, etc. As far as the OS and Chrome know they are running in their own self-contained machine, pretty much as if they were running on a physical device. The endpoint device....dumb terminal (thin client), laptop, desktop, phone, etc is not really relevant. - Roaming profiles in place? No. - Is this reproducible in Beta? Yes - Is this reproducible in Canary? Yes - Is this reproducible in Incognito? Yes - Is this reproducible on different browsers? No - Is the computer a host attached to a Server? - Virtual machines organized in a domain using Microsoft Directory with MS Windows Seriver 2012 R2 Domain Controllers. - Relevant information collected (Chrome debug log, crashes, conflicts, about version and policies) is stored in the following folder: https://drive.google.com/a/google.com/folderview?id=0B0nGBnDjvEr5NGpPd2YzemR4bW8&usp=sharing I believe the issue is related to Chrome gpu and hardware acceleration issues on the VM environment.
