||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionWe should maintain some way to reach History/Extensions from the Settings page. Current proposal is making the page title in the toolbar a dropdown.

Alan, do you want to share mocks for a dropdown (or something else)?

I don't have a good answer for cross-linking between MD pages I think on the old uber page, if there's only 1 link in the uber side nav, we should just hide it.

So will Chrome 64 include a way to switch between Settings and Extensions pages? I see issue 741803 but it's not a blocker for the feature shipment, apparently.

The discussion about this is still ongoing. Given that M64 has branched already, I don't see how this could make it to M64, so M65 would be the next target. Pasting some screenshots FYI

@27: Likely M64 will *not* include a way to navigate to Extensions from Settings directly through the page's UI. We don't have it as a blocker because that's the current state today, too (no easy way to go from settings -> extensions). It's definitely something we're targeting, but it will almost certainly wait until M65+.

Extensions link is added in Settings navbar as part of https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=809293#c1. I believe this bug is now a duplicate of issue 809293 . We will probably keep thinking about a generic WebUI Switcher even after addressing the Extensions case per comment#1, so de-duplicating those bugs for now. |
