Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/51.0.2704.84 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Put your MacBook to sleep 2. Wake it up after a while(>5min at least) 3. Open chrome, most of the extensions freeze and report crashes by notification dialog after about 1 minute. I also found that the "Chrome Helper" process occupies over 100% of my CPU resource What is the expected behavior? What went wrong? I know that lots of processes or services would reach out to internet for checking update after network restore from sleep, so the system would become a little laggy after waking up. But this sort of freezing and crashing on Chrome never happened before version 51 Also, the "Chrome Helper" would keep running in a high resource occupation(>100%) after this situation which can only be resolved by restarting Chrome. WebStore page: Did this work before? Yes Before version 51 Chrome version: 51.0.2704.84 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.11.5 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0

1. "chrome://crashes" -> The crash is not listed. The latest crash is long time ago. 2. There is no "client_id" field in "~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Local State", only "client_id2" field: 83261448-BEEE-2697-5F29-0F1EA50D28BB 3. "~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter" -> No such path Sorry that I can't provide much crash info. Cheers

@yihshyng223, any particular chrome extension that might have caused this slowness?

@lazyboy, one noticeable change among extensions after upgrade to version 51 is that Google Tone (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-tone/nnckehldicaciogcbchegobnafnjkcne?utm_source=chrome-ntp-icon) add a small microphone icon on my system toolbar. Cheers
