@rnimmagadda: There is no Crash ID regarding this as the browser did not actually crash. There are multiple logs in Console for hanging and spinning. This typically occurs when quitting Chrome on 10.12 Sierra

I haven’t been able to reproduce this, after having run Chrome on 10.12 for a week, including applying several updates.

Based on "This typically occurs when quitting Chrome on 10.12 Sierra" this sounds like a dup of https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=620259.

I buy that. It’s not updating so much as quitting (to restart with the updated version).
