Version: 53 and above
OS: All operating systems
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Navigate to a Progressive Web App (such as pokedex.org) with DevTools open
(2) In Device Mode, select Nexus 5X
(3) From the orientation drop-down, select 'Portrait - navigation bar'
(4) The navigation bar does not take into account the meta theme color, used in Chrome for Android. This provides an emulation that isn't faithful to the current experience a user will see. Would it be possible for us to use the theme color here? :)
What is the expected output?
Meta theme color used for the background color of the navigation bar. IIRC, Chrome for Android may tint this slightly (as per the UA affordances in the spec).
What do you see instead?
No themed navigation bar.
Additional comments:
Given that the default first load experience of a PWA on Chrome for Android will display the navigation bar, I wonder if this should also be the default, with the option to switch up to the full screen experience for those that wish to do so.
