SVGs in our websites have disappeared after upgrade to chorme 51 version

Reported by l...@spectory.com, Jun 14 2016

Issue description

Hi ,

We are a projects company and following upgrades to version 51 of chrome
Most SVG's in our websites have changed or disappeared - in older chrome versions they are still displayed.
Is this part of the change in the new version ? is there an SVG that still works?
what are the rules for such SVG?

Thanks,

Could you provide an example? (link to website, fiddle, et.c)

Comment 2 by l...@spectory.com, Jun 14 2016

Sure
https://www.melo.co.il/t/categories/grooming-and-oral-care/all-pacifiers
we used to have dotted lines between product... now gone

We use this class:

left-border {
    border-image: url(/assets/melo_border_dots-9f5d10cdde84e57fa021b4214dd2ca78.svg) 1 0 0 12 repeat;
    border-width: 0 0 0 7px;
}

the image doesnt load, not even an error in the console.

Another project i have (not open to the public) uses KeyLines netwrok visualizer that contains SVG's - also gone making the network unusable.

Keylines support now tell us to move to PNG which is a visual and performance disaster for us.
The project has just been installed with a large customer which is looking for us to provide an immdiate solution.

Thank you for your help i will be very very happy to provide more information if such is needed at any time of day (due to the circumstances)

Thank you.

The reason the border disappeared is issue 559258 . You can add "border-style: solid" to the CSS rules that define a border-image (like .left-border), and then they should show up again. (As a bonus the borders will then also render in Gecko.)

Hi,

This only answers part of my question (Actually the part my customers are less concerned about)

The big issue is with the KeyLines Layout where we use the attached SVGs with the following style:<style>.cls-1{fill:#fff;}</style>
to render them on the layout circles. Since version 51 the SVG is missing see the layout with just the circles in the second attachment.

Please help us if you can

Thanks,

How is that SVG "embedded" into the KeyLines Layout?

Comment 6 by l...@spectory.com, Jun 14 2016

Its a property in one of their objects
I am trying to get then to comment here.

@lila: Could you please let us know if this is the expected behavior. [Screen-recording is attached]

Else, provide us the screen-recording demonstrating the exact issue, which would help us in triaging it further.

Thank you.
