@paulwais:

Thanks for the report. Are you still seeing this problem?. Could you follow the instructions from http://www.chromium.org/for-testers/enable-logging and see if there is any error reported when the bug manifests?

What does the "Inspect" dialog of the "Activity Monitor" (Applications/Utilities) show for the Chrome process?

Given our current velocity, we need to punt 500 bugs from m9. Moving p2 bugs, that are not started and have an owner to the next milestone. If this issue absolutely needs to be fixed in the current milestone please move it back, however, at this time the focus should be on p1 bugs.

P2 bugs with an owner that are not marked as started are being automatically moved to mstone:11.
Status: WontFix
Cannot repro.
I am getting the same problem, and it's happening very frequently now. I'm attaching my net-internals dump. I am not able to confidently reproduce it, but this has never happened before. It started just today.

PS: I am not sure if this is the right place (I followed on from 4769). If I should be filing a new bug, please tell me. I've zipped up my cache too, but it's 274mb, and hence I can't attach it here.

It may be related, but maybe not.

What version are you using? What OS?

Could you leave the net-internals page open and see if you can repro again (we get more info when that page is open)? What are the symptoms?
Chrome version: 10.0.648.119 (Official Build 75907) beta
Running on Windows 7.

It's difficult to repro this crash (it crashes after the hang), but I'll try. However, leaving the net-internals page open will not help, since Chrome will eventually crash. Is there any other way I could debug?
I'm attaching the crash dumps for now. These are all the ones in my CrashReports folder.

Sorry -- I will not cross post comments. I will open a new bug asap. But I am a bit confused becuase I don't use Spyware Doctor.
Yes, My bad, I was looking at the wrong crash :(

I'll post the results of the crash to the new bug.
OK, then here:

So basically there is a hardware / device driver error reading from disk, and we crash. Yes, most apps won't crash for it, but we do. Btw, that qualifies as a WontFix.
I'm sorry, I was in class, so couldn't create a new bug. Is it definitely a hardware fault, because I ran a thorough chkdsk.

Should I file a new bug now?
I don't think there is a need for a new report.

Thanks.
Ok, I guess there might be some problem in the hard disk. I'll run a sector scan or so. Thank you for your help, rvargas?

this happened to me a few times yesterday. i cleared the history and it happened. i uninstalled chrome completely and installed it again but the issue was not resolved.

Comment 18 by Deleted ...@, Jun 9 2011

I've had this issue off and on for only the last few weeks. At one point, i cleared my cache and the problem cleared up. Just happened again however; starting to hate wiping my cache out. vote to fix -> +1.
