DRM issues on Panther boot -- drmModeDirtyFB

Above error message show up on a panther and spews this message several times a second and makes /var/log/messages difficult to use for debugging:

frecon(185): drmModeDirtyFB failed: Function not implemented 

This is a top-of-trunk build.
