WebGL2 issues on Intel HD 6000 - Macbook Air |
|||||
Issue descriptionVersion: 53.0.2765.0 OS: OSX What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) go to http://twgljs.org/examples/uniform-buffer-objects.html What is the expected output? It should run What do you see instead? A blank screen no errors. It runs fine on a MacBook Pro I wasn't sure whether or not to report this. It's totally possible it's my fault but the sample is pretty straight forward. It creates a single shader program with 4 uniform buffer objects. One is for global-ish stuff like viewPerspective matrix. One is for material stuff like diffuse and specular settings. One for light info (position, color). One for world matrix stuff (per instance data) It then draws using a bunch of uniform buffer objects. Several for materials, several for lights, one for the globals, and the per instance one. Is WebGL2 known not to pass on an Intel HD 6000 Macbook Air? Note I don't have one. Mr Doob reported this to me. He said it doesn't generate any errors but it also doesn't work.

Unfortunately we don't have any of this hardware in house, so it's unclear why WebGL 2.0 would not be working. Most of our own Macs on which we test are still running 10.10. Ricardo, could you attach the contents of about:gpu (as a plaintext file, no formatting) from your machine?

I'm not sure what is going on. My best guess would be the disable_texture_cube_map_seamless workaround from Issue 597794 , but it looks like that shouldn't affect whether WebGL 2.0 is advertised. I think we'll need to get one of these machines to repro. Victor, could you find out whether they can be easily ordered internally? Ricardo, regardless, I recommend you take the 10.11 upgrade.

Could you confirm if this is still an issue? If so I will source the hardware.

At this point we have an Intel HD 6000 in house and this demo is running fine on Chrome 60.0.3100.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) on the 10.12.5 Beta (16F67a), at least. Not easy for us to test on 10.12.4 any more. Closing as WontFix (not reproducible). |
