Please bring back the "merge tabs and apps" feature

OS: Android 5.0.2

I really liked the way all of my Chrome tabs showed as different windows in the app switcher (because honestly, there's barely any difference between most websites and most apps these days), and having to keep track of two seperate stacks of windows is counterintuitive. Is it possible to bring back the "merge tabs and apps" feature? Thanks!

Or I mean at least add a flag to renewable it in chrome://flags I'll take anything to get this back. This was a feature I really liked. And now it's just gone without any warning.
