What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Open Gmail
(2) Click the "search" button in the upper right corner
(3) Attempt to search for a contact

What is the expected output?

Expect to be able to search for a contact.


What do you see instead?

The search text field contains my own contact's avatar and a drop-down menu. Clicking in the area and attempting to type doesn't work. This seems deeper than a simple repainting bug. It was just broken in the most recent Canary update.
