Unable to repro this issue on Windows 7 for Google Chrome Stable Version - 51.0.2704.84 Screen-recording is attached. @nikhilv2007: Could you please perform the steps mentioned beneath and let us know your observations. 1. Update your Google Chrome to Latest Stable Version - 51.0.2704.84 2. Re-test the same on a clean profile [chrome://settings -> Add Person] Thank you.

Maybe it's caused by some extensions, like this issue https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=601085#c7

Updated Chrome to latest version 51.0.2704.84. Scenario - 1 (existing person profile) 1. Removed access of all extensions in incognito mode. 2. Open new incognito window and navigate to the URL. 3. execute Clear() on console -> doesn't work Scenario -2 (add new person) same steps above, works

Have finally figured out the reason for this behavior. "Preserve Log" is checked on console, so the console isn't cleared on cmd execution. I'm not sure of what is supposed to be behavior, but I strongly feel console should be cleared on cmd(clear() & console.clear()) irrespective of "Preserve Log" (un)checked.

Not able to reproduce the issue across all OS platform. Able to clear the console using command clear() & console.clear() as expected. nikhil@ - Could you please confirm that are you able to clear console by unchecking "Preserve Log" ? If yes, Can we close this bug?

went through bug - https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=271202 and found that this bug would have been avoided by updating the documentation(https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/docs/console#clearing_the_console_history) as suggested in https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=271202#c9
