Feature request: default setting for "Request desktop site" |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: My wife has many sites which she wants to read in the desktop version; for each one, she has to click "Request desktop site" every time she opens it. What is the expected behavior? What went wrong? It would be nice to be able to set "request desktop site" as a default, either globally or per-site. Perhaps, when you select "request desktop site", you could then get an option to remember that choice for the future. Did this work before? No Chrome version: 51.0.2704.77 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.0.1 Flash Version:

+tedchoc@ from the UI team to comment on this. We also have two recent reviews from the Play Store for the last beta version alone requesting similar functionality. It seems like a reasonable request; is this something we can implement?

Alas, this is not a new request, and in general has been shot down for various reasons throughout the history of the project. Here's a major tracking bug for RDS (although it focuses more on sticky for the domain, this is also brought up): https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=146127 Adding more deciders to see if we should revisit.
