the label below).
Platform > Apps > Recovery Tool
Steps To Reproduce:
(1) Run recovery tool, create recovery for Samus device (or any model).
(2) Once image is burned for first USB device, attempt to make a 2nd USB device with exact same Samus image.
Expected Result:
Since we are burning the exact same image, tool should hold on to the existing downloaded image thus reducing the time and bandwidth necessary to create multiple copies of a model's recovery image.
Actual Result:
Tool re-downloads the image every single time.
How frequently does this problem reproduce? (Always, sometimes, hard to
reproduce?)
Always
What is the impact to the user, and is there a workaround? If so, what is
it?
Large customers and partners who are doing OOBE setup and whiteglove configuration for 10,000+ devices of the same model need to be able to make many copies of the recovery drive very quickly. It should not be necessary to download a 500mb image file for every single USB device to be created.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screen shot or
log if possible.
One workaround is for user to download image directly and then use local image but this requires customer to know non-documented steps that are not clear.
Currently after the image is burned to USB, we offer two choices, "Create Another" and "Done". I propose we add a third option "Create Another with same image" to allow for multiple USB drives to be made from the same downloaded image.
