DevTools locks up when trying to load a timeline

Reported by dajdav...@gmail.com, May 31 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/53.0.2753.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Load https://http2.andydavies.me/interio/ in Canary
2. Open DevTools
3. Hit CMD+R to record timeline and load it into DevTools

(This isn't the only site I see this behaviour on but it's the one that reproduces it most reliably)

What is the expected behavior?
Timeline records, loads into DevTools and renders view

What went wrong?
DevTools hangs on the Loading Timeline dialog

Launching DevTools on DevTools doesn't reveal anything but trying to record a trace in chrome://tracing also produces an error

Did this work before? Yes Works in 50.0.2661.102 (64-bit)

Chrome version: 53.0.2753.0 Channel: canary
OS Version: OS X 10.11.5
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

Thank you for your report.
I'm not able to reproduce it in Canary on Mac and in ToT on Linux.
Probably some DevTools experiments are enabled or chrome://flags are set, are they?
Since we've an error in tracing dialog that points to some place in source code, Andrey, please take a look.

I've reset the chrome://flags back to default the issue still occurs but occasionally works now (we see similar with other URLs)

Is there any easy way to dump the flag values out incase I'm in an experiment that's affecting it?

Also as I can inspect DevTools, is there anyway to dump the timeline data out to json (or similar)

One the occasions where it fails I'm noticing a few things

- Occasionally the main browser tab becomes unresponsive - can't scroll, click, can't close tab etc. and need to kill it with Task Manager (or wait for Chrome to prompt for it to be killed)

- Sometimes I can relaunch DevTools (sometimes I can't) but some components of the UI aren't rendered see attached - completely closing Chrome appears to be the only way to recover from this (though I need to retest this a few time)
