Cannot highlight text on google docs

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open google docs document
2. Type text
3. Cannot highlight text

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
Highlighting text in google docs doesn't work

Does it occur on multiple sites: No

Is it a problem with a plugin? No 

Did this work before? N/A 

Does this work in other browsers? Yes 

Chrome version: 53.0.2751.0  Channel: canary
OS Version: OS X 10.10.5
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

Unable to reproduce the issue on Mac 10.11.5,Ubuntu 14.04 and Win 7 using latest canary 53.0.2753.0 and stable 51.0.2704.63.
Please review the screen cast let us know if any.

Oddly enough, although I was able to consistently reproduce the error yesterday, it seems to be working today and I cannot reproduce the error. Thanks for looking into it.
