Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 8350.2.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2743.0 Safari/537.36 Platform: 8350.2.0 (Official Build) dev-channel swanky Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to settings and languages, languages and input settings 2. Go to Add 3. Look for IPA / International Phonetic Alphabet What is the expected behavior? Find the International Phonetic Alphabet and leap with joy! What went wrong? I couldn't find the IPA keyboard input. Now I am sad. :( Did this work before? No Chrome version: 52.0.2743.0 Channel: dev OS Version: 8350.2.0 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0 A website to refer to existing keyboards is... http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=uniipakeyboard I am learning Khmer at a language school which exclusively uses an IPA variant to teach students how to speak the vowels and consonants of the Khmer language with precision. It would be nice to be able to work with the documents and create my own IPA words/text. In order to do this, I need a keyboard layout which easily supports IPA. It would be great if Chrome OS provided one! (Hey, I could even help write the code for one - just point me in the right direction!) Thanks!

An IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) keyboard would be useful not only for linguists, but for learners of all languages. Chromebooks already appear to support the Unicode IPA characters, there is just no easy way to type them into a document. A Chromebook keyboard which emulates the “IPA Unicode 6.2 (ver 1.4) KMN” keyboard (see the page linked to by the person who submitted the original feature request) would be amazing. Thank youǃ

I still think this would be helpful. Is there a guide to making a template of some form to define a new keyboard layout, or import an existing IPA keyboard layout? |
