||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionVersion: 53.0.2749.3/8376.0.0 (Official Build) dev-channel auron_paine, Wolf OS: Chrome What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) In OOBE screen select language as "Arabic" and sign in with user that has long Username and mail id. (2) Sign out and click on arrow button on profile pic and observe the name. Expected: Starting of the name should be seen even if language is changed. Actual: Instead Starting of name is hidden. This is a regression issue as it is working fine in 50.0.2661.103/7978.74.0 stable channel daisy.

I'll take a look if someone can provide a page or testcase. I don't know what OOBE is and there's no URL in the test case for me to look at.

With respect to comment#4 and #5: Checked the issue on 53.0.2785.55/8530.47.o beta channel daisy and on latest 54.0.2822.0/8687.0.0 dev-channel daisy. Issue is still reproducible. Steps as per comment#0: Step-1 : After doing powerwash or after newly installing build we will get OOBE screen i.e where we select Chrome OS language and add WIFI options. Please access Video of changing language to arabic from OOBE screen and signing in with long name here: https://goo.gl/photos/8c4igKAYmijh7A4MA. Step-2: Signout and observe profile name here: https://goo.gl/photos/VpgU7WCwMvKY4Wau5.

I think the new behaviour is correct. See the discussion in https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=155836
