MD History: Clearing a search causes animation jank as new results load in

Chrome Version:53.0.2750.0 (Official Build)c84885e83ecac137b93ed2b6c8b7323d8e91ffe1-refs/heads/master@{#396337} 64 bit
OS: Mac( 10.10.5, 10.11.4), Windows (7,8,10)

Pre-condition:Enable ‘Material Design history’ flag.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch chrome and navigate to chrome://history/
2. Click on search field, press 2-3 times spacebar and then click on ‘close’ icon of search field.
3. Observe 

Actual: Animation while closing the search field is not proper. 
Expected: Animation while closing the search field should be proper.

This is regression issue, broken in ‘M 53’ and below is narrow bisect:

Summary: MD History: Clearing a search causes animation jank as new results load in (was: Regression:Animation while closing the search field is not proper in MD History page.)
It looks like the problem isn't with the search field itself, but with the page janking as results come in from the backend, causing a long frame and the animation to skip.

Status: WontFix (was: Assigned)
Clicking the Clear Search button no longer causes any animations (the search field will clear, but not close).

Therefore, closing this issue as WontFix (Obsolete)
