The Resource data in traces provides Blink-layer timings of starting and finishing requests. Netlog and Network domain data provides network layer timings. These figures can diverge considerably, for example: if the main thread is busy for 3 seconds, an image that completed downloading cannot be painted. [1]
An ideal situation is that we marry the two data sources so we can have the entire picture.

Without this, the renderer-POV of network requests are misleadingly long. And the net-POV of requests complete earlier than the page has access to them.
