Issue descriptionAny email that has some quoted text shows the quoted part as white. Repro 100%. Nexus 5x/MTC19V webview 52.0.2739.0 this is reported in b/28977540. Gmail was reported to be ok. Don't know if it is a webview or app issue. However report was that 50.0.2661.86 was ok.

Yes, This issue repro from M52/52.0.2705.0 (first build branch cut) Steps:- 1. step gmail and inboxbygmail on the device. 2. Open any existing email on the gmail > reply/all > Select respond inline > in the exiting body test add some word XYZABC > hit Send 3. Go to inboxbygmail open, the rec ivied email and observe the body content. Results:- show white space/line before and after XYZABC first broken build is 52.0.2705.0 -Repro on most of the device

[Bulk edit] This issue is marked as a blocker for the Android M52 beta promotion. We need *all* blockers fixed on trunk and merged back to the M52 branch by Monday, 5 PM Pacific at the absolute latest. Sure this bug shouldn't block the beta release? Change the tag to ReleaseBlock-Stable, or remove it entirely (if appropriate). Not sure if it should block the release, or know you won't be able to land a fix in time? CC me to the bug and ask for assistance on how to proceed. Thanks for your help!

actually b/28977540 is not fixed yet, but the similar bug in gmail is fixed. however it is still an app bug.

will verify this issue when latest inbox by gmail/ available on play store. Note:- with the current inboxbygmail it still repro with M52/webview and Inbox/1.24(123364378) |
