Sorry for the late response. I was OOO. Blink r199131 is unrelated to this issue. I see no obvious culprits in the regression range. I think this should be re-bisected to confirm that range. Removing the release block: Regression is old (M46). If we did not block prior releases for this, why would we block 52?

199133 seems like a better candidate - the background image has a 'Vary' header, and the background-color is white, so not loading that image quick enough could explain the flash.

Able to reproduce this issue is seen on Windows and Mac OS using chrome latest Dev M55-55.0.2880.0. japhet@ - Is there any update on this bug? Will you mind taking a look in to it ? Please feel free to reassign to the concerned owner if it's not related to your change.
