my instinct tells me this is not really a webview bug. The yahoo mail app has full control of what to do when a user taps on an email address. Are you sure this used to work on older versions of webview?

Yes, for this and similar bugs, test team should test with an earlier stable WebView first.

Something similar to b/27547367 ?

Not really similar to that (which was about keyboards). Anyway, can you test earlier versions of WebView? This is probably not OS specific. So you can even use very old Android version like L-mr1

I'm seeing this issue on older webview as well - non regression

must be something in the app maybe they swallowed the touch event (unlikely), or swallowed the intent into composing an email (more likely) |
