Agreed, we should just remove the checkbox if the value can't be set. To comment #3, there shouldn't be any privacy implications here since this flow will never opt a user into reporting data back to Google (i.e. the case presented here is a user who wants to send data back, but that setting isn't persisted through the download flow).

Given no privacy implications, we can remove the checkbox/option from dlpage with a future dlpage update.

Chatted with blumberg@ further, so 1) The Enterprise sites are being taken care by him with Meghan Simkover who is driving the enterprise marketing/web dev efforts: https://www.google.com/work/chrome/browser/ http://www.google.com/intl/us/chrome/business/browser/admin/ Per him: the /INTL site we are working on a plan to remove/merge it with the CFW site google.com/work/chrome/browser" 2) The education site https://www.google.com/chrome/education/browser/admin/ is unclear and need to figure out. We can use the Buganizer bug to follow-up further and figure out.

Actually, this was fixed some time ago. The usage consent on the download page works as intended for enterprise installers these days. Thanks. |
