I installed version 50.0.2661.102 again and wiped folder chromium in /home/user/.config. Webm was played. Then closed chromium and started chromium again. Webm could not played properly. After setting in preferences hardwareacceleration OFF, webm could be seen again. I am using Netbook Acer One D270 with Intels GMA3600 - screen resolution 1024x600, kubuntu 14.04 Updated to chromium 50.. on other computers with screen-resolution 120x800 without any problems!

Updated to version 50.0.2661.102 on Toshiba NB100 netbook (screen 1024x600, Intel GMA950 graphic-adapter, kubuntu 14.04) Webm works with hardwareacceleration switched ON! Seems to be a problem with the GMA3600 graphik-adapter used at Acer One D270.
