Physical Web doesn't always show results in TodayView widget when language is German |
||
Issue descriptionOS: iOS German language setting On Bling, with the latest version of Chrome, Physical Web results don't immediately appear after adding the widget to the Today View and opting in. A copied link was already present in the UI. After longpressing on the widget UI for 2 seconds, the Physical Web result appeared. Also, when the copied link was removed from the widget UI, the URL appeared. But, when the copied link was present and the user didn't longpress, results didn't appear.

What do you mean by "when the copied link was removed"? Do you just mean if you copied new text that was not a URL and opened TodayView, that results started to appear fine? For those who do not know, Chrome for iOS TodayView widget will say "Open copied URL" if you have a URL in clipboard, and the result looks like its part of the same list as PW results. I cannot replicate in US language, but I haven't tried in German. I wouldn't know where to begin on this bug I just wanted to offer some background.

Do you have multiple Chrome channels installed on the device (and multiple Chrome extension) ? There is a known limitation that if you install multiple today extension, there is a concurrency issue on the BT resource.

+1, that's the correct interpretation Michal. Olivier, the user who I was testing this with did not have other versions of Chrome installed (in fact, they installed Chrome specifically to use Physical Web after I told them about it).
