CSS 3 Column bug (overflow: hidden functionality where it shouldn't)

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/50.0.2661.102 Safari/537.36 Example URL: http://uma-architekten.at/year/ Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a container with CSS3 columns 2. Position an element relative inside the columns 3. Position an element inside the relative positioned element and position that absolute What is the expected behavior? The elements display regularly What went wrong? The absolute positioned elements are clipped as if there is an overflow: hidden applied to the box. However, applying overflow: visible or any other rule does not fix the problem Does it occur on multiple sites: N/A Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? No Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 50.0.2661.102 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0

No clear test case here, but since it was reported with Chrome 50, it may be a duplicate of bug 527709 .

This issue is still there in 54.0.2840.71. This also breaks box-shadows on items in columns, which is how I found out it exists. I've attached a testcase. Try all permutation of box-shadow and position:relative on both of the inner divs (try putting position:relative on the second inner div first and watch all shadows magically disappear).
