Let's wait until we have Dev validation that this fixes the increased memory consumption. 

Any updates here? We will be cutting a stable RC early next week.

c#0 says this is for dev and beta. Rejecting this merge request to M51 which is currently on stable. Please re-request with more information if this is really needed in M51.
