Context menu not displayed when right-clicking <object> element

Reported by chris.a....@gmail.com, May 19 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/50.0.2661.102 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Embed file e.g. an image using object tag.
2. Right click the element

What is the expected behavior?
Display a context menu with appropriate items i.e. "Save image as" in the case of an image.

What went wrong?
No context menu is displayed.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 50.0.2661.102 Channel: stable
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0

Tested Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer and they both behave as one would expect.

Thanks for the report.

could you please provide a sample HTML/jsfiddle so that would be helpful to triage the issue from our end.

Note: tried with below steps and unable to reproduce the issue on Win 7 Chrome stable 50.0.2661.102 and Canary 52.0.2741.0
1. Navigated to https://images.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl and searched for a image
2. Right click on the image - able to see the context menu options 'Save image as, copy image' etc.
I cannot get a context menu to appear when right clicking and <object> element whose data is a JPEG or PNG image, though it appears to work for SVG.

PNG: https://jsfiddle.net/gqf4yd4q/
SVG: https://jsfiddle.net/c4khxor5/
Actually, while the context menu does appear for the SVG case it does not give the option to 'Save image as...'
