OS X shortcuts for cursor movement do not work in address bar

Reported by wout.mer...@gmail.com, May 18 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_4) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/50.0.2661.102 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open a new window, have the cursor in the OmniBar
2. Type "test one two"
3. Type Option+delete (backspace), option+left

What is the expected behavior?
Option+delete should delete the previous word; option+cursor keys should move by word; cmd+left/right keys should move to beginning and end of line

What went wrong?
Nothing happens

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 50.0.2661.102 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.11.4
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0

Note that this works fine in in-browser text fields, it only doesn't work in the OmniBar

Thank you for your report.

All of the listed key bindings work for me in Chrome 50.0.2661.102 (current stable) on 10.11.5.

Do you have any extensions installed?
Does this problem happen in incognito mode?
Ok, it happens in incognito mode too, but it doesn't happen in Chrome on a guest account. I wonder if I have some sort of malware. I am investigating.
It turns out I was using the Unicode keyboard layout, which eats these keyboard combinations in OS X text input fields, but not in the custom input components that Chromium uses.

I believe this warrants a *headdesk*.

Please close this non-issue, apologies for the noise.
