Tab freezes while copy pasting large content

  Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you
have tested this issue:
     Safari: ?
    Firefox: OK
         IE: ?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) try to paste large amounts of text anywhere into chromium while on arch/i3(X)

What is the expected result?
pastes content

What happens instead?
tab freezes for 1 min and doesnt paste anything

Unable to reproduce the issue on Ubuntu 14.04 using chrome latest stable M50-50.0.2661.102. Observed no freezes in copy pasting the text.

chris@- Is this issue is seen on incognito mode as well? Could you please recheck this issue by creating a new profile under chrome://settings without any apps or extensions in your browser.
