We currently have 2 HTTP cache backend (i.e. SimpleCache on Android, BlockFile on desktop platforms). This is unfortunate and hinders our velocity (separate optimizations, complexity).

Let's try to fix this by settling down on SimpleCache.
OS specific issues because performance and therefore launch criteria will vary across platforms.
