chameleon: chromeos1-row5-rack5-host2 can not detect mic jack

Project Member Reported by cychiang@chromium.org, May 13 2016

Issue description

Hi Kalin,
I found that audio_AudioBasicExternalMicrophone test is failing on chromeos1-row5-rack5-host2 recently, while passing on chromeos1-row1-rack4-host3.
I logged in and check that mic jack does not present even if I plug audio jack.

I think this is an issue of either plugger position or audio cable.
Maybe plugger position needs to be adjusted, or audio cable needs to be replaced.
Could you please take a look ?
Thanks!

Thanks Jimmy, will look into this ongoing issue tomorrow morning, and will update status.

I remember I attempted to resolve this ~ three weeks ago, and found out the DUT was not responding to the plugged plug action, but another daisy DUT(from chromeos1-row1-rack4-host3) did well - around the builds from this screenshot - https://screenshot.googleplex.com/obR5hmZsgvY . Then I replaced this one with another(same kind of old DUT) and I believe I replaced the cable too.

We'll swap both of the DUTs (in_box and out_of_box_with_chameleon), and replaced the cable again.

Well, it seems no swapping DUTs is necessary.

I replaced just the cable and MIC node showed in the status menu as I plugged it manually(first to chameleon side).

It is a little strange, but with the plugger, the new cable showed some flakiness in triggering the MIC node, and I had to adjust position little higher.
The old cable did not provoke it, no matter how I plugged - with plugger or manually. I know daisy has a distinctive end-of-plug bump that requires bigger force for jack to get in place. With the old cable I did not get this and with the new - yes, I can tell it is there.

It looks to me 3.5mm jacks are under stress and wear in way they cant work after some time. Will monitor for this happening again.
