Version: 50.0.2661.89
OS: Android M 6.0.1
Device: Pixel C with hardware keyboard
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use an Android tablet with a hardware keyboard.
2. Open Chrome.
3. Go to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cult_films
4. Start scrolling down on the article a couple of viewports.
5. Now that you're already at the screen with your hand, tap the '+' button to open a new tab.
6. See that you are on the new tab page with a huge search box and empty omnibox for your searching wishes.
7. Start typing on the keyboard to search for 'norwegian citizenship'.
What is the expected output?
The search I am typing is being entered into the omnibox.
What do you see instead?
The Refresh-button is being marked as the current focus, so all my input seems to go to that instead of the omnibox.
Workarounds:
A) After tapping the '+'-button, hit Ctrl-L on your keyboard to become ready for query input.
B) Instead of tapping the '+'-button, hit Ctrl-T on your keyboard to both open a new tab and become ready for query input.
