2.type something in the search box

What is the expected behavior?
visible cancel button in right corner

What went wrong?
no cancel button

Did this work before? Yes ...

Chrome version: 52.0.2730.0  Channel: canary
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

previously, it was needed
-webkit-appearance: none; 
to overwrite default look

now, any styling of -webkit-search-cancel-button breaks it

this was working before (not sure how long), but at least in last 3-4 month is broken
