chrome.desktopCapture bug with windows 10 Black screen

Reported by nu...@neeaconsulting.com, May 9 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/50.0.2661.94 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Use chrome.desktopCapture API with "window" propertie
2. Windows that appear to share screen that are chrome appear as black screens
3. Selecting them just share black screen and if you share firefox window, minimizing firefox stops screen share

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
Since a week or so our extension is bugged on computers with windows 10 OS. It presents the chrome windows as black screens and when sharing a firefox window, minimizing it stops the screenshare

OS Version: windows 10

I have a report of the same issue from a user of CrankWheel (WebStore page http://bit.ly/crankwheelext). Some but not necessarily all of the windows in the dialog they see when we invoke chrome.desktopCapture with "window" properties are black, and if they choose a window that is black the video stream we receive is also just a black frame.

This was working correctly for the same user on two different Win10 computers as little as ~2-3 weeks ago, but is now failing on both machines.

CCing tommi@ on the WebRTC team who can hopefully help find a proper assignee.

Yeah this is a know issue, see https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=289779. Basically window capture is not working for Chrome windows on Windows 7 when aero is disabled. We have worked around this problem for Chrome windows by getting the content directly from the Chrome rendering, but that fix is only available in 51 (stable within 2 weeks). Until then you have to either enable Aero or use Chrome beta.
niklase will that solve in windows 10 also?
#5, Yes, chrome windows should go from being hidden to be available to share on Chrome 51 - if that's what you meant.
