Reported by regis.ca...@gmail.com, May 8 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2723.2 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. type in the location bar "êt" (no quotes) to do a google search on "être"

What is the expected behavior?
UI displaying "êt"

What went wrong?
The letter are collapsed and the "t" is rendered over the "ê"

Did this work before? Yes 2 versions before this one if I remember well

Chrome version: 52.0.2723.2 Channel: dev
OS Version: 16.04
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

I found 554107 but I'm not sure it's related.

Additional infos: Ubuntu 16.04 desktop, up to date, using gnome-shell
