"Cast" menu item missing from toplevel OSX menu bar |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionVersion: 51beta, 52canary. OS: MacOSX 10.11.x We introduced a "Cast..." menu item in the hamburger menu, but it is not in the main menubar on Mac. Items should be available in the main menubar as well. Pete, where should it go?

Ooo that is a tough one. I'm unable to test but what level of Chrome is "cast" (i.e. the focused tab, window or all windows)?
If it is just the focused tab or window, I might lean towards under "View" just after "Enter Full Screen". If it casts all windows (essentially the whole app) I might put it under the app menu ("Chrome") (maybe after "Show All" in its own group).

Heh - the flag is oddly named -- chrome://flags/#media-router should make "Cast..." appear in the hotdog menu. And the dialog itself has the _ability_ to cast a tab or the entire screen. (and possibly particular windows in a later version). However, the dialog is definitely tab-modal: you need a browser window, and a particular tab, to show the dialog. To me that sounds like 'View', under 'Enter Full Screen', is the right choice. It appears in the hotdog menu kinda near the Enter Full Screen button too (there is just 'Print...' in between).

Cool, thanks for the help Trent! I'm fine w/ 'View' > 'Cast...' if you and Mike are :)
