Play pause button on tab

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Not a problem

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
I think that for tabs that produce audio (notated by the speaker symbol), there should be a play/pause button on the tab header so you dont have to click the tab and then click the play pause button. This eliminates need to click twice and also allows users to quickly play/pause music if colleague is talking to team, etc.

Did this work before? N/A

Is it a problem with Flash or HTML5? N/A

Does this work in other browsers? N/A

One can right click and mute, also there's an experimental feature that makes the mute button clickable: chrome://flags/#enable-tab-audio-muting
Having media keys _always_ working would also be nice :)

This was discussed several times among various stakeholders, and we decided this would be putting too much functionality in the tab strip (and there were other browser intervention issues). Some (not all) of it was discussed publicly in bug 3541 (comments 113 through 120).

Instead, the focus now is on changing media element autoplay behavior. Until anything comes of that, a Chrome Extension could be used to provide something similar to what you're asking for.
