Hi, i using Cordova. You can download free Turni Di Lavoro Lite (Shifts
Manager) on Playstore. After open the app, click on menu and then on Turni
function. Click on item in list, clicking on select tag with label Tipo
opens twice context menu flickering in a short time. On change, select not
update the value.

After update of Android System WebView 50.0.2661.86 (20 April, 2016 on
PlayStore) select element not work properly.

We look forward to a solution

On https://jsfiddle.net/a12fr5aa/ with google chrome it work good but
context menu color is different. Under google chrome is white but under
webview is dark (as screenshot in attached file). They do not have the same
behavior.
I think is a webview bug.

I'm using Jquery Mobile 1.4.5 but with native select element. Downloading
my app Turni di lavoro Lite from playstore you can verify behavior.

Unistalling Android System WebView 50.0.2661.86 all work ok. But isn't a
good solution for my customers.

Status: WontFix (was: Unconfirmed)
What the context menu looks like depends on the theme, and on webview, the theme is controlled by the app. What theme is the app using?

This is a wontfix on webview's part.

I create app with cordova. Cordova build under Android platforms and it use
android webview. Then i upload apk on https://play.google.com/apps. It's a
hybrid app... If you testing my app you can see that theme is managed only
by css and javascript. Jquery Mobile allow use custom select but in my app
i used native select in webview. Have you installed my app to verify
behavior? Sorry for my bad english. I'm Italian

I know it's a cordova app. Then you have to talk to cordova (or whatever service generated the apk for you) about what theme the produced apk is setting.

Comment 9 by xacq...@gmail.com, May 6 2016

I think it use default theme. I not read anything about theme selection in
cordova documetation.
https://cordova.apache.org/docs/en/latest/guide/platforms/android/index.html

Can verify it from my source? Please can you tell me how to?

If it's the default theme, then it depends on the android version you are using. I don't know much about cordova so can't help you much.

Hi, maybe I understand when the error occurs, it is a problem with jQuery Mobile.
http://demos.jquerymobile.com/1.4.5/selectmenu/
If I use the element without css it works well, but if I use the style of jQuery Mobile the problem occurs.
Can you test this page http://demos.jquerymobile.com/1.4.5/selectmenu/ with webview? The problem should occur

Update:
the problem occurred on Google Chrome on Android version 50.0.2661.89 too.
Go to http://demos.jquerymobile.com/1.4.5/selectmenu/ from Chrome app.

Click on select element opens twice context menu flickering in a short time
and not update the value. If field is focused problem not occurred, try to
lose focus on the field and retry to click on select.

I hope I have helped you

Hi s.un...@aus-gmbh.de, thanks for your workaround... But, my question is? Why this work well before 50.0.2661.89 release? Is this a regression? or will be fixed? The problem occurred on WebView/Chrome on Android/Desktop version 50.0.2661.89.

Errata corrige:
The problem occurred on WebView/Chrome on Android version 50.0.2661.89 only. On Chrome Desktop work well

Looks like menu not working issue is fixed in M51, and the double open thing is fixed in trunk (M52).
